The city's party scene will move into overdrive as the Gold Coast's annual motoring spectacular kicks off 21st October 2011. The Supercarnivale festival of motoring will showcase the excitement and adrenalin of Australia's V8 Supercars with an injection of overseas talent following last year's introduction of a new endurance race with 28 world-class international drivers.
Now on its 20th year, the three-day motoring event is expected to attract thousands of spectators and provide a great range of Gold Coast holiday packages which allow you to revel in action both on and off track. As the race wraps up for the day, audiences are invited to unwind as premier musical acts come out to keep the festival rolling with performances during the evening.
Guests staying at Cannes Court Surfers Paradise accommodation apartments seeking for a night of fun and lively music are in for a treat as Perth hip hop hero Drapht joins Potbelleez, Bag Raiders, Tonite Only and Illy in headlining this year's acts at the 600 Sounds at Broadwater Parklands on 21st October.
Legendary rock acts Hoodoo Gurus, Eskimo Joe and Masters Apprentices will also blast out some homegrown hits at the Saturday night concert. Famous Scottish band Simple Minds will close the show, complementing the star-studded line up of high-profile international drivers. Entry is free with a three-day general admission ticket to the Gold Coast 600.
